striving together for the faith of the gospel.”
THANK YOU FOR 25 YEARS OF FAITHFUL SERVICE!
Pastor Wayne Shatney is retiring from his position of NRBFC Representative in October, 2024. Pastor Shatney has served as a pastor in two churches in Maine and one in New York State. Pastor Shatney received his theological training at the Baptist Bible College in Clarks Summit, Pennsylvania; he and his wife Sandy have three children, ten grandchildren, and 13 great-grandchildren.
With over 45 years in the ministry, Wayne brought a wealth of experience to his role as our representative. Pastor Shatney has a deep loyalty to the Word of God, a keen appreciation for the historic, fundamental faith of Baptists, a love for people, and as a native Mainer, an understanding of the unique opportunities and challenges of the Northeast (region). We thank him for his unwavering, long-standing service to the NRBFC!
Who Are We?
The Northeast Regular Baptist Fellowship of Churches (NRBFC) is a fellowship of churches in the Northeast (region) who have banded together for mutual encouragement, edification and evangelism. Our fellowship with one another is on the basis of our common convictions in the Word of God, our faith in the Lord Jesus Christ, and our distinctive, fundamental Baptist doctrine and practice.
The NRBFC is a friendly fellowship. We are always looking to welcome Pastors, Missionaries, and laypeople into our fellowship. We desire to be a blessing and encouragement to one another in our mutual areas of ministry and service for our Savior.
The NRBFC is a faithful fellowship. While many associations and groups are compromising with error, the NRBFC stands unashamedly for the historic, fundamental Baptist heritage and the truth of God’s Word.
The NRBFC is a fruitful fellowship. Many of our affiliated churches are the result of missions efforts; we have a heart for evangelism and church planting in the northeast and around the world. NRBFC churches support more than 128 missionary families in 30 nations and 16 states of the U.S. We desire to see the principles of the Bible bearing fruit in the lives of our people in greater likeness, loyalty, and labor for the Lord Jesus Christ.
The NRBFC, since its inception in May of 1948, has sought to be a blessing to regular, autonomous Baptist churches throughout the Northeast (region). Its fellowshipping churches are active in evangelism, church-planting and other missions efforts, in having Bible conferences, in advising and encouraging Pastors and churches, and in supporting one another in prayer and fellowship. Our representative, Pastor Wayne Shatney, is available to preach in local churches and to offer godly counsel to churches and Pastors. The NRBFC has taken a strong stand against apostasy and compromise in these days of blurring lines and values.
